The SAQA Board approved the policy (click here for document) and criteria for recognising professional bodies and registering professional designations for use in the pilot phase and submission to the Minister of HET as well as Councils of the QCs at its meeting on 26 March 2011.
Please note the following:
SAQA reserves the right to make changes to the document based on the comments received from the Minister and the three Quality Councils.
SAQA will be hosting regional roadshows during mid-2011 to explain the policy and criteria and to provide guidance where necessary. More information will follow in due course.
Selected pilot projects will be undertaken in the second half of 2011.
No applications will be considered by SAQA until a formal announcement to this effect is made by SAQA.
