Opportunity to join the SAIMechE UKZN Student Chapter Committee

The SAIMechE UKZN Student Chapter Committee is looking for 5 ambitious, dedicated students to join their team.

As a SAIMechE Student Chapter Committee member, you will:

  • Create a platform for SAIMechE STudent Members to network with industry and learn about the various job opportunities within the field of Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering by arranging technical site visits to companies in your area
  • Recruit final year students to register as Graduate Members and make use of the Professional Development Program (PDP) to become professionally competent
  • Help to host the SAIMechE Student Road Show, annual John Orr Memorial lectures, and the SAIMechE UKZN Final Year Student Function
  • Have the opportunity to attend SAIMechE KZN meetings and functions, as well as the SAIMechE National Annual General Meeting where you can meet and network with leaders in the field of Mech Engineering in South Africa (both in the private sector and academics)
  • Have the opportunity to be published in the SA Mechanical Engineer magazine as part of the Student Chapter.

If you think you have what it takes to serve the SAIMechE UKZN Student Members, while advancing your own career, please send an email to with the following:

  • Your name, surname and cell phone number
  • The degree you are studying and your year of study in 2018 (2nd year, 3rd year, final year, post-grad etc.)
  • A short bio of who you are, any experience you might have etc.
  • A short paragraph on why you want to be part of this initiative.
