SAIMechE Central Branch technical visit:

De Beers Technologies (DebTech) Centre

The SAIMeche Central Branch Committee invites you to a technical visit to the De Beers Technologies, (DebTech Centre), Southdale, Johannesburg.

You will be presented with impressive high-tech information on how DebTech designs and manufactures a range of automatic particle sorters and separators for diamonds, iron ore, coal and chrome.  Both ultra violet and x-ray techniques are used.  Equipment for non-nuclear density measurement of flowing ore will also be presented. 

The technical site tour is limited to 40 persons who will be divided into groups.  Full names and ID numbers of all visitors to this high security site must be submitted and be available on entry.

Seats are limited - We request that you only reserve if you are certain to attend.

* CPD credits will be awarded (details to be provided shortly).
