Peter Flower’s presentation will address his personal insight into the management of the recent drought as well as many other aspects of the Western Cape’s water supply system. In his presentation he will address the management of the various dams that supply the City and the various irrigators, and the City’s management of its water distribution system and of consumer water demands which together avoided the so called “day zero”.
Peter’s presentation will provide insight into both the political and technical management of the drought, and of the City of Cape Town’s planning of additional future water supplies including the planning of groundwater development, water reuse and desalination.
This lecture is open to the public and will be followed by light refreshments (courtesy of the South African Academy of Engineering - SAAE).
