Synopsis

This is a 2-day on-line training on the NEC4 Engineering Construction Contract (ECC) presented by ROY GOVENDER Pr. Eng. for Engineering Managers, Technical Managers, Contract Managers, Project Managers, Engineers, Technologists and Technicians from all disciplines in Engineering. Candidates participating in this course will receive 2 CPD points with ECSA. 

The course fee is R7200 vat exempt and includes PowerPoint presentation and training material which will be couriered to you prior to the start of the course. This is a popular course, and seats will be limited to make an effective learning experience!!

The NEC4 is an evolution of the NEC3 Contract and knowledge of this contract is a prerequisite for contract success where an NEC contract facilitates the relationship between the two parties.

The contents of the course:

1. Brief overview of the structure of the ECC contract (Main Optional clauses, Core clauses and Secondary Option Clauses)
2. Risk and Payment difference between Option A, B, C, D, E and F
3. The use of appropriate Secondary Option Clauses (X clauses) and how it affects the risk profile of the contractor
4. The Contractors’ main responsibility
5. Time and Programme
6. Testing and Defects
7. Payment
8. Compensation events
9. Title
10.Risks and Insurance
11.Termination
12.Dispute Resolution
13. What are the differences between ECC3 and ECC4

Main Objective:

To empower attendees in the implementation of a NEC4 ECC contract and understand the functions of the two key agents representing the Client namely Project Manager and Supervisor and the responsibilities of the Contractor, to increase the probability of project success, decrease disputes and ensure that Client and the Contractor works in accordance with the Contract and in the Spirit of Mutual Trust and Cooperation.
