About this course:
This course focuses on saturated steam as used by industry in processes such as heating, drying, evaporating, cooking, sterilizing and others. Please note that this course does not deal with the use of superheated steam for power generation.
The topics have been selected to suit the needs of the Plant Engineer, and are dealt with at a level of general understanding. The course should be useful for young professionals, and for those who would like to revisit the topics. Course participants will receive the presentation slides before the course.

3. Steam traps
4. Steam flow measurement
5. Chemical protection of steam and condensate systems
Cost:
For SAIMechE members in good standing: R3200 + VAT = R3680
For non-SAIMechE members: R3800 + VAT = R4370

Course presenter:
The course will be presented by Vaughan Rimbault (FSAIMechE, GCC).
Vaughan completed a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Mechanical) at the University of Natal (now the University of KwaZulu-Natal) and holds a Government Certificate of Competency (Mechanical – Factories). He is a Fellow of SAIMechE.
Vaughan is a former Plant Engineer and has held positions in chemical and textile manufacturing plants. He currently practices as an independent professional to the manufacturing industry.
His particular career brought him into close contact with boilers and steam systems, accumulated during years of managing a steam outsourcing business. This hands-on experience at a very detailed level gave him a broad but thorough exposure to the generation and use of saturated steam for industrial heat transfer purposes.
